Arc welding is a dying art, most people spring for a MIG welder these days because it's easier to learn on and easier to do.
With that said, I really want to refurbish my grandpa's old buzzbox from the '50s and learn how to arc weld on it.

I have no idea what those are, but they look like those awful candy cigarettes you get on Halloween.

My dad's buzzbox probably dates from the 60s, but it's not very good. It's a little erratic on current, so tends to stick more than it ought. Might do to go through and replace/clean the electrics.
